This Glimpse of Bhutan tour is perfect for those who have limited time but have always wanted to explore the land of the thunder dragon. Learn the cultural and natural wonders of this magical Buddhist Kingdom in the Himalayan region.
Enjoy scenic drives, picturesque sightseeing walks, and even a short mountain hike to see a spectacular view. Visit the Buddha point (Kuensel Phodrang), the Memorial Chhorten and Tashichho Dzong, three very famous sites in Thimpu, the capital city. Take a scenic drive to Paro, where you can explore Tiger’s Nest Monastery, the Farm House, the National Museum and other attractions.
Over just four nights and five days, you can learn about the traditions, myths, culture, landscape, and people of Bhutan. Explore the hidden jewels of this amazing country!

Itinerary

Experience the thrill of mountain flying while gazing down over the meandering Paro Chu River. You will be met on arrival and transferred to Thimphu, the modern capital, where you stay overnight. (L/D)

This morning, you visit the National Library, the Institute for Zorig Chusum (traditional arts and crafts), the Textile and Folk Heritage Museum and the King’s Memorial Chorten then, this afternoon, Trashichhoedzong (“fortress of the glorious religion”) and Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal (reconstructed in the 1960s). You also have time to stroll around the government-run Handicrafts Emporium and local crafts shops before making your way back to Paro via typical mountain scenery. Your stay here will be for 2 nights. (B/L/D)

After breakfast, drive to Paro visit Ta Dzong, now housing the National Museum which displays antique thangkha paintings, textiles, weapons and a rich assortment of historic artifacts. You then walk to Rinpung Dzong, which has a long and fascinating history. After lunch, you drive to Drukgyel Dzong, a ruined fortress where Bhutanese warriors fought Tibetan invaders centuries ago, then visit the 7th century Kyichu Lhakhang, one of 108 temples built in the Himalayas by Tibetan King, Songtsen Gampo. The construction of this temple marks the introduction of Buddhism to Bhutan. (B/L/D)

After breakfast, you drive to Taktsang, the most famous of Bhutanese monasteries which is widely known as “Tiger’s Nest.” On your return journey to Paro, you’ll visit Paro town . (B/L/D)

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport where arrangements end. (B)
